Since 2022 you must record everything. Not just overtime.
In 2022 the German Federal Labour Court (BAG) confirmed what the European Court of Justice (C-55/18) requires: employers must record the entire working time of all employees objectively and reliably.
If you cannot, you have no evidence when a former employee disputes their hours. Customs can demand records going back two years. And as practice owner you are the employer, personally.

Your data
Your data stays in your practice.
MINUTUS does not need a cloud. A small Docker host or a virtual machine in your practice is enough; your employees' working-time data then sits on your own hardware, under your control.
In your practice
Your employees reach MINUTUS over the practice Wi-Fi. You or your IT provider set up backups, on the Docker host or as an image of the whole VM. Your IT provider receives updates as an install package; if you like, we apply them by remote access, by arrangement.
With us, in Germany
If you prefer, we run MINUTUS for you on servers in Germany, at no extra charge. For that we sign a data processing agreement (in German).

Is this legally sound?
MINUTUS is built around the 2022 BAG decision and the German Working Hours Act (ArbZG). Every timestamp is created by the database on the server, never by the browser, and every change goes into an immutable audit log. Details on the compliance page.
What about data protection?
Employees only see their own time entries. Sick leave is visible only to the owner and the practice lead. You can run MINUTUS in your own practice, so the data stays with you, or we host it for you in Germany. The data processing agreement (in German) is at Auftragsverarbeitung.
How long does it take to get started?
Hours, not days. You add your staff, each person gets an email invitation and sets a password. No training required.
